Veterinary Practice Manager Columbia, South Carolina Full-Time | On-Site Leadership Role Van Crest Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Practice Manager to lead hospital operations in partnership with our Medical Directors. This role is responsible for team leadership, financial performance, and operational efficiency in a well-established companion animal practice. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys coaching teams, improving workflows, and using data to guide decisions while maintaining a positive, supportive culture for both staff and clients. What You Will Own Team Leadership & Culture Lead, coach, and develop CSR and technician teams Hire, onboard, and train new team members Conduct performance reviews and accountability conversations Foster a collaborative, respectful, and engaged team environment Support staff growth and technical skill development Hospital Operations Manage daily workflow, staffing levels, and scheduling efficiency Partner with the Medical Directors on patient flow and service standards Address escalated client concerns and service recovery Maintain smooth day-to-day hospital operations Financial Management Monitor key hospital metrics including revenue, payroll %, inventory, and transaction charges Review monthly P&L and implement action plans Manage purchasing and inventory controls Support growth initiatives and marketing efforts Compliance & Facility Oversight Maintain OSHA and regulatory compliance Coordinate vendors, equipment maintenance, and facility needs Ensure medical record standards and hospital protocols are followed Required Experience Veterinary hospital experience required (minimum 2 - 5 years) Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a veterinary setting Comfort working alongside doctors and technicians in a clinical environment Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting Preferred Qualifications Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) LVT/RVT/CVT highly valued Multi-doctor or high-volume hospital experience Background in P&L management or business operations May consider an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience A bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare is helpful but not required.
