Job Description

We're Hiring: Travel Registered Dietitian

Location: Spokane, WA

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm with rotating every 3rd weekend

Pay: Weekly pay package: starting at $2300 Weekly Gross Pay (Travel package)

️ Duration: 13 weeks

Are you a high-acuity RD who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment? We are looking for a skilled Travel Registered Dietitian to join our interdisciplinary team in Spokane. This role offers the perfect blend of complex clinical challenges and a supportive, "home-like" team culture.

With the stunning North Idaho wilderness just minutes away and a leadership team that prioritizes workload balance, this is an ideal contract for a traveler looking to make a real impact.

The Role: Clinical Excellence at Pace

You will be responsible for managing a high-volume workload of 12–15 patients per day. This is a "hit the ground running" position for an RD who excels in critical thinking and complex medical nutrition therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • High-Acuity Care: Diagnose and treat malnutrition and manage complex nutrition support, including TPN (3-in-1 compounding) and enteral feeds.
  • Efficiency in Documentation: Utilize EPIC with smart phrases and auto-populating templates to maintain a 20–30 minute window per patient assessment.
  • Collaborative Practice: Participate in daily morning huddles to redistribute workloads and ensure the team functions like a well-oiled machine.
  • Comprehensive Assessment: Collect and analyze lab values, anthropometrics, and medical history to develop evidence-based care plans.
  • Outpatient Support: Depending on the clinic, provide individual consultations for chronic conditions (DM, CHF, obesity) or lead group education classes.

Schedule & Flexibility

We value work-life balance and provide advanced scheduling so you can explore the Pacific Northwest.

  • Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
  • Rotation: Rotating every 3rd weekend.
  • Planning: Schedules are posted 4–6 weeks in advance.
  • Balance: Flexible weekdays off during weekend rotations (guaranteed no more than 8 consecutive workdays).

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Credentials: Registered Dietitian (RD) certification through the CDR.
  • Licensure: Washington State Certified Dietitian license (must be active or obtainable before start).
  • Experience: Recent Acute Care experience is required. You must be proficient in TPN, tube feeding, and high-acuity malnutrition assessments.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in EPIC EMR is highly preferred.
  • Certifications: CNSC is a plus, but not required.

Why Join This Team?

"We aren't just a department; we’re a community. We have a unified leadership team, standardized protocols to make your life easier, and we actually enjoy taking lunch together."

  • The Culture: A welcoming, proactive atmosphere where team members laugh together and support one another through daily huddles.
  • The Location: Spokane offers incredible summers and easy access to North Idaho. It’s a dream location for hikers, lake-lovers, and explorers.
  • The Impact: Work in an environment that respects the Nutrition Care Process and utilizes your full scope of practice.

Why Spokane? The Best of the Inland Northwest

Spokane offers a high quality of life by perfectly balancing "big city" amenities with a relaxed, family-friendly pace. It has become a premier destination for travelers who want to trade coastal congestion for mountain air.

Key Highlights:

  • Outdoor Paradise: Access 76 lakes within 50 miles, 5 ski resorts within a 2-hour drive, and endless trails for hiking and climbing.
  • Affordability: Enjoy a significantly lower cost of living and more accessible housing compared to Seattle or Portland.
  • Financial Perks: Benefit from no state income tax in Washington.
  • Urban Culture: A vibrant scene featuring local breweries, a thriving arts district, and the iconic Riverfront Park.
  • Strategic Location: As the regional hub, Spokane provides top-tier healthcare and amenities without the intense traffic or density of a major metropolis.
