CTG’s long-standing Fortune 500 client is seeking a Stack Development Engineer to join an Agile development team supporting modern web applications within a research and engineering environment. This role focuses heavily on full stack software development with front-end emphasis using JavaScript/TypeScript and Vue.js, along with back-end API development in Python.

Job Title: Stack Development Engineer

Location: Corning, NY

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Corning, NY

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Associate degree candidates may be considered with an additional 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full stack web applications and services

• Build responsive front-end functionality using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Vue.js

• Design and support Python-based APIs and GraphQL services

• Work with Postgres SQL databases and schema-driven development

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, and code reviews

• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, UI/UX designers, and product stakeholders

• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code with unit and integration testing

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across UI, API, and database layers

• Contribute to technical design discussions and engineering best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software development experience

• Strong experience with:

• JavaScript

• TypeScript

• Vue.js

• Python

• GraphQL

• Postgres SQL

• Experience building modern full stack web applications

• Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, and code review processes

• Understanding of scalable application architecture and software design principles

• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or interest in scientific software, research applications, or technically complex environments

• Experience working in Agile software development teams
