Job Description

The Pipeline Technician is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and optimization of pipeline systems, with a strong focus on pigging operations and pipeline integrity. This role involves coordinating field activities, leading contract crews, and troubleshooting pipeline flow issues to ensure optimal system performance. The position requires a safety-driven, self-motivated individual with strong technical knowledge of pipeline systems, flow processes, and field operations.

Responsibilities

• Execute pipeline pigging operations using conventional launchers, receivers, and pig valve systems
• Lead and coordinate field-based contract crews to ensure safe and efficient operations
• Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline flow issues, identifying and resolving operational constraints
• Read and interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, schematics, and alignment sheets
• Plan, organize, and prioritize daily work activities and project tasks
• Operate and support mobile pump equipment and pipeline cleanout operations
• Generate accurate and timely field reports for operational analysis
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve technical issues
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational procedures
• Participate in safety meetings and promote a strong safety culture
• Respond to on-call and emergency situations as required
• Travel to field locations to support operations across assigned assets

Skills

• Strong knowledge of pipeline pigging operations and equipment
• Understanding of pipeline flow dynamics and network operations
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve pipeline performance issues
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
• Experience with mobile pump systems and pipeline cleanout processes
• Strong leadership and crew coordination skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) and pipeline-related applications
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities
• Commitment to safety and environmental compliance

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of oil & gas experience, preferably in pipeline operations
• Hands-on experience with pipeline pigging (launchers, receivers, pig valves)
• Familiarity with pipeline systems, flow processes, and associated facilities
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel (60–80%)
• Ability to work on-call and respond to emergency situations
• Physically capable of performing fieldwork, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined or uneven environments
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with field reporting systems
• Associate’s degree in engineering or a related technical field preferred

Job Details

Pay: $37/per hr

Location: Kenedy, TX

Schedule: 7 Days On/7 Days Off (12Hr Days)
