Position Summary

The Store Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and staff. This role plays a key part in ensuring the overall appearance and sanitation of the store, both in public areas and behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the store
• Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly
• Clean spills promptly and place safety signage when needed
• Maintain cleanliness of entrances, exits, and parking lot areas
• Sanitize high-touch surfaces (handles, carts, counters, etc.)
• Assist with seasonal deep cleaning tasks (windows, coolers, shelves)
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning or janitorial experience preferred, but not required
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs

Work Environment

• Grocery store setting with frequent customer interaction
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals (training and PPE provided)
• Active, on-your-feet role throughout the shift

Schedule

• Part-time (typically 1525 hours per week)
• Evening and/or early morning shifts available
